What actions were fated or freely chosen?

It can be argued that everything that happened in Oedipus the King was fate as well as free will. This is because you can argue that your free will is what determines your fate, so when Oedipus willingly chooses to pursue the truth about the killer plaguing his kingdom he believes that he’s willingly doing this but he does not know that it was fated for him to search for this truth. When Oedipus left his father’s kingdom he believed that he was using his free will to stop the prophecy from happening but he didn’t know that fate had already determined that he was going to leave his father’s kingdom.
